Reflect on what you know about mitosis and meiosis. What is the difference in the number of cells produced during each process of cellular reproduction? What is the difference in the number of chromosomes produced?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Mitosis is used to duplicate the number of autosomes (cells in your body not involved in sexual reproduction) while meiosis produces sex cells, or "gametes". Mitosis produces 2 cells with the same number of chromosomes as the initial parent. Meiosis produces 4 cells with half the number of chromosome as the initial parent.
