A girl's feet are negative 4 over 6 yards from the surface of a pool. A boy's feet are negative 1 over 6 yards from the surface of the pool. Determine whose feet are closer to the surface. :p

Say the distance in the surface is 0.
Ýou have to make 2 equations, where you find the variable's value , which gives the distance to the surface.
For the girl it will be \[-\frac{ 4 }{ 6 }+x=0\]
For the boy:
\[-\frac{ 1 }{ 6 }+y=0\]
Find both variables and the answer will be the variable with the smallest magnitude.
