Solve the system of equations by substitution. What is the solution for x? 2x + y = 1 4x + 2y = -1 x = 0 x = 2 There is no x value, as there is no solution. x can be any value, as there is an infinite number of solutions. @cherry18

Sorry to bother you, but this is the last one

a. x = 0 b. x = 2 c. There is no x value, as there is no solution. d. x can be any value, as there is an infinite number of solutions.

It's fine. Thats what this site is for.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Rearrange the 2nd equation. 2x + y = 1 Subtract 2x to both sides: y = -2x + 1 Plug in -2x + 1 for 'y' in the other equation.

OpenStudy (igreen):

4x + 2(-2x + 1) = -1 Simplify
