OpenStudy (desiraem):

Given the box plot, will the mean or the median provide a better description of the center?

OpenStudy (desiraem):

OpenStudy (desiraem):

A) The mean, because the data distribution is symmetrical B) The median, because the data distribution is symmetrical C) The mean, because the data distribution is skewed to the right D) The median, because the data distribution is skewed to the right

@jim_thompson5910 @Michele_Laino @Nnesha

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I'm not sure, I think it is option D

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please wait, I ask to another tutor

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

@jigglypuff314 c an you help here, please?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Michele_Laino is correct. The long tail on the right side means the data is skewed to the right. The median is a better center because the median is not affected by skewed tails.

OpenStudy (desiraem):

thanks guys.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

thanks to all!
