Why is there less oxygen in ocean water near the equator than in water closer to the north pole?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

To keep it short and simple, hot water contains less concentration of oxygen than cold water. (equator is obviously hotter) Hot water "excites" the oxygen molecules and forces them upwards, and escape. While cold water does the opposite.
