Welcome to Openstudy....! Mutagens are the agents that causes sudden changes (mutations) in the genetic construction. They are of two types 1. Natural mutagens - are occurred naturally in the atmos. 2. Induced mutagens - these are also called artificial or manmade. They are of two types: a) physical mutagens- these mutagens include xrays, gamma rays, UV rays etc b) chemical mutagens - these mutagens include chemical compounds like colchicine, deaminating agents, benzyl purines etc. Hope it is clear...
