It's a sprite, a collection of images used in the site's css. The website uses a specific part of the sprite for different buttons and images like that green owl. This is an old sprite by the way, most of the images in it are from very old versions of openstudy. Most of the buttons were replaced in the latest OS update. Only a few of the images in the sprite are still in use. I do have a few larger owl images by the way. Attached them.
Thanks Thomas. I kind of figured that out when I saw a flying twitter bird that followed you on the page. When I saw the html, I was confused how one image could be used. I changed the width and height and was able to see the whole thing. Thank you for clarifying.
