Which of the following statements is an example of weather? A: Its Usually Cloudy in Chicago B: it is raining in Miami C:Most of the time its cold in Alaska D: The average temperature in Wisconsin is 60 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think B would be the best example of weather. Weather describes the state of the atmosphere in a certain place at one point in time. Climate is the long term weather patterns of the atmosphere in a certain place. Key term here is "long term". So like it is raining in Miami right now (no literately), but it probably won't rain for a whole month in Miami so we couldn't say that the climate in Miami is mostly rainy or something like that, it is raining now, and that is just one point in time. In the other answer choices it says "usually", "average", "most of the time" they are describing long term weather patterns

Even if it rained for a whole month in Miami we would not necessarily call that climate, unless it was a early event, such as a monsoon season.
