please help
OpenStudy (hockeychick23):
ok so since 5 out of 13 players had 2 or more siblings those numbers both need to be on the same side, so that will give you 5/13 and the total number of players is 520, so do you think that means 520 is on the bottom or top of the proportion?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
bottom
OpenStudy (anonymous):
because it is the total

correct :) so you have 5/13= x/520
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so I have to cross multiply
OpenStudy (hockeychick23):
no it isn't asking you to do that, 5/13= x/520 is the same thing as x/520= 5/13
OpenStudy (hockeychick23):
thats one of your answer choices
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so 8=x

you don't need to solve for x, if you look at your answer choices, A is x/520= 5/13
OpenStudy (swamijatin2):
since the proportion remains same,
# before/total before = # after/ total after

yeah I just fully read everything and realized I didn't need to solve it
OpenStudy (hockeychick23):
ok :)

thank you
