the reason why you wouldnt do 5*5*10*2 is because you would get an answer to the 4th power

and volume is to the 3rd power or cubed, so in order to get a cubed answer you must do what i did cause your trying to find the volume of the whole cake so you would add the volumes of the 2 layers of the cake together to get your answer
