What is the correct way to rewrite this sentence to remove the comma splice? My alarm failed to wake me up this morning, I arrived at work late. My alarm failed to wake me up this morning I arrived at work late. My alarm failed to wake me up this morning. Since I arrived at work late. My alarm failed to wake me up this morning, so I arrived at work late. My alarm failed to wake me up this morning; for this reason arrived at work late. Done

any guesses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmmm id have to say C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. "My alarm failed to wake me up this morning I arrived at work late." it isn't A because this is a run-on type sentence that just doesn't work. "My alarm failed to wake me up this morning. Since I arrived at work late." it isn't B because "Since I arrived at work late." is a sentence fragment. "My alarm failed to wake me up this morning; for this reason arrived at work late." it isn't D because it needs to say "for this reason I arrived at work late.". so yes, C is correct
