For the first, you'd see it's true when you add four to each side. You'd eliminate the -4 on then left with the adding of four, and -6+4=-2

And form the remainder of the problem, you isolate x by just multiplying by the negative reciprocal, which is -3/2, or just dividing by the number in front off x, which is -2/3, which makes statements three and four true.
