What difference between slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibers relates most to their difference in function? Fast twitch fibers have a poorer blood supply than slow twitch fibers. Slow twitch fibers contain more mitochondria than fast twitch fibers. Slow twitch fibers do not require oxygen for energy, but fast twitch fibers do. Fast twitch fibers are found in large muscles, unlike slow twitch fibers. B

is it B

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

I think it's either A or B, but I'm not sure which one impacts their difference in function more, because both cause the fast twitch fibers to fatigue much faster.

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

"The lack of blood results in relative oxygen restriction, so fast-twitch fibers tend to fatigue much faster than the better oxygenated slow-twitch fibers." "On the other hand, fast-twitch fibers have considerably fewer mitochondria and, as a result, fatigue far quicker than their slow-twitch counterparts." http://www.livestrong.com/article/454134-difference-between-slow-twitch-and-fast-twitch/

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

I'm not sure which one it is, I'm sorry :/ maybe if you look back in your lesson, the answer is hidden somewhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
