OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Common ratio of a sequence

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Nnesha (nnesha):

to find the ration divide 2nd term by first one

OpenStudy (chaise):

Common ratio is the ratio between 2 sequential terms. r=tn/t(n-1)

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

does it have to be the 2nd and first term? or can it be the 4th and 3rd?

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[r = \frac{ a_2 }{ a_1 } , \frac{ a_3 }{ a_2}\] nope...

Nnesha (nnesha):

you can divide 3rd by 2nd one or 4th by 3rd one next term by previous one (if that make sense);)

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

yup, got it. it's -3/2

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right :-)
