5 Which of the following statements best explains why geographic isolation can lead to speciation? A Physical separation of populations reduces competition for each group. B Physical separation of populations prevents interbreeding and mixing of gene pools. C Physical separation of populations provides more space for each group’s size to increase. D Physical separation of populations stresses the organisms and causes mutations in their genetic code.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do species propagate themselves? Pretty hard to do this propagation if you cannot physically interact because of something like an ocean.

what..i dont get you...

How does any organism make another individual of the same species?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk..

How do humans make more humans?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sexual interaction??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Now, what does that do? It keeps populations of humans sharing a common gene pool. I am defining gene pool all the variation in found in all the genomes of a species or population. Now, if a group of humans magically gets sent to a new planet trillion of light years away from Earth, could the Earth humans and the non-Earth humans share a single gene pool?
