Mendel’s team built a structure for a competition using wooden spheres and cylinders. The wood they used weighs 1 g for each 1.4 cm3. They used 4 spheres and 4 cylinders to build the base of the structure. Each sphere has a radius of 4.45 cm. Each cylinder has a radius of 3 cm. The base weighs 1700 g. What is the height of the cylinders? Use 3.14 to approximate pi and round the answer to the nearest whole number. @pinklion23

here

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

okay so do you remember the formula for a semicircle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.14 * r^2/2

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

wait dorr for get that

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

sorry good job though lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so its not that formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused xD

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

okay the formula for a sphere is 4*3.14*r^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 4*3.14* 4.45^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/3**

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

so what is 4*3.14* 4.45^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

82.9064

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pinklion23

OpenStudy (anonymous):
