OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

I need help with recognizing adverbs. Instructions: (1) Draw one line under the adverbs that modify verbs. (2) Draw a circle around the adverbs that modify adjectives. (3) Draw a box around adverbs that modify adverbs.

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

(1) Daniel was a trusted adviser to the most powerful rulers of his time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think there should be a circle around was

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

Was is a verb though. A linking verb to be specific.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its describing what he is sry i must be confused

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

It's linking it but it's not an adverb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im sry

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

Is okay :) thanks for trying though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the adverb is in the sentence?

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

I'm not sure the whole adverb and adjectives is confusing i'm thinking powerful could be an adverb but i don't know what to do with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it might be trusted or powerful

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

Yeah same here but it's confusing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

powerful is describing ruler and ruler is a adjective right so this would mean a circle around powerful. If the adverb is powerful

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

Alright thank you (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i looked it up and powerful can be an adverb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry bout the trouble

OpenStudy (babyx3boo):

No worries and thank you :)
