OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

what daaaaaaaaaaaa fafqfaqq is going on i got a warning for posting a link in OS because it wasn't my own work??? is there some rule i've missed while you guys have gone nutso and changed the entire website?

OpenStudy (baby_bear69):

It isn't even OpenStudy anymore. It's StudyOpen. lolol jk

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

and whattatatatqat daadadad faqfqfafqfa is this qualification biz???? i successfully completed year 12 as a freaking dux - i think i am qualified to post a link

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Where did you post it, and it's always been like that. Posting something that isn't your own work in like the writing, design, or music section (unless if they are questions for that specific subject) is against the Subject rules and somewhere in the TaC.

OpenStudy (greencat):

Posting links should be fine because it's so obvious that it's not your own work.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

It isn't if you post it on the question board, but I am asking where he posted it. In the chats???

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Where

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

its a LINK of course if it says: Museuem of Natural History it wont belong to me

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

It might have been a different reason.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

thats the point of a LINK further reading for the asker

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i'm no posting paragraphs out of someone journal i said hey bro the answer is la da dar if you want more info go to this page nek minnit thats illegal WHHTWTHWTHHTHTFTHTHEFTFETHFTHE

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Ok, so you posted a link to help a reader with their question, and you did get a warning for posting that link, because it wasn't your own work?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

Yeah, is that like illegal now?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Clearing things up, and you're 100% positive that is the exact reason you got warned? If not, go check your email you used for this account. It should be there

sammixboo (sammixboo):

No, no it isn't.

OpenStudy (latex master):

@TuringTest Now you get another.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Do you have the link to the question where you posted this link on

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i have always answered peeps questions with 3 dot points: what do you think what i think lets ask someone else / lets see what this website has to say

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

and negative i have no idea, it came up when i logged on this morning

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

probs happened midnight time Australia, morning time america

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

but i've been suspended recently for things that i wrote years ago

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Hmm, ok. Give me a second. Do you know what the rticle/page was about

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

like twtftwtfttfwtfwftw 0_o

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

is a mod going through my entire history trying to find a fault with every single thing i have ever done on OS?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yeah Prae. I was discussing a warning I got with Amistre, and he said it coulda been very laggy in the system that doesn't go through for even months

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

looks im not even that worried about getting a warning ive been suspended so many times before for the most ridiculous reasons, my fav of which was "helping too much" end quote

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i just wanted to make sure in the future i am still able to help people and direct them to appropriate sources of relevance to their inquiry

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

if im still allowed to insert a link to help a newbie then thats all i needed to know :D

sammixboo (sammixboo):

his might've been something from a while ago. I looked through all your answered questions, and none of them within the past 24 hours you have replied with a link

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yes, providing links is perfectly fine

OpenStudy (turingtest):

According to the log, you were warned because you posted a link in chat, and links are only supposed to be posted if they are either owned by you, or related to studies. Either because of the content of your link, or because it was posted in chat, your link was seen as not meeting the criteria.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

as in recently or like a million years ago?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

That is very interesting. People post links of pictures, gifs, etc not of their own work

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Like frequently

OpenStudy (turingtest):

today

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i just logged on bro

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i only just woke up

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

havent inserted any links

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I can't say I knew about that rule, but I haven't been here in a while. The time on the warning is 12:04:57, not sure what time zone.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

LOL i won't be surprised if i got it while i was dead asleep in bed

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

anyways YOLO just as long as i can help people the same way ive been doing since forever i'm all good cheers chaps
