Select all that apply. Which structures are found in animal cells? A. lysosome B. cell wall C. cilia D. chloroplast

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A,B, D :D

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

That is actually incorrect @AFluffyLittlePuppy :) Lysosomes are present in animal cells as they are "enzyme sacs" which digest cellular wastes such as food or to break down the cell when it dies. Cell walls are only present in plant cells and is made by cellulose. They basically act as a "protective layer" outside the cell membrane in plant cells and they also provide support for the shape of plant cells. Cilia are generally "minute hair like " organelles which are identical in structure to flagella. Cilia moves liquid pass the surface of the cell. E.g. Sperm (which is a single - cell) is enabled to swim . Therefore, cilia is present in animal cells. Chloroplasts are only present in plant cells as chloroplasts are needed for the process of photosynthesis which is basically how plants get their "food" . Hope this helps you out ^_^ @Mutie
