OpenStudy (bananas1234):

Find the greatest common factor of the pair of numbers. 348 and 426

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6

OpenStudy (bananas1234):

Could you explain how you got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From Mathematica: {FactorInteger[348], FactorInteger[426]} {{{2, 2}, {3, 1}, {29, 1}}, {{2, 1}, {3, 1}, {71, 1}}}

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

they are both even so they are divisible by 2 the digits of each add to a multiply of 3 3 + 4 + 8 = 15 and $ + 2 + 6 = 12 so they are divisible by 3 since they are divisble by 2 and 3 then they are also divisible by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I listed out the factors of both numbers (got help from the internet doing that since these are big numbers) and the greatest common number there is your answer

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

a simple way is to use a factor tree |dw:1428993375502:dw| then you can see the GCF

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so the GCF is |dw:1428993633659:dw|
