Hi! do you nned to solve for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok do you jknow how to add 5 on both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not exactly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2y+2-5=7 combine like terms 2y-3=7 add 3 to both sides 2y=10 solve for y y=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there you are :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it would look sorta like this: 2(y+1)-5= 7 +5 +5 now on the left side of the equation the 5's would cancel out so you are now left with 2(y+1)=7+5
