The figure below shows a shaded region and a non-shaded region. Angles in the figure that appear to be right angles are right angles. What is the area, in square feet, of the shaded region? What is the area, in square feet, of the non-shaded region?

here is the pic
find the area of the red rectangle 16 x 8 then subtract the shaded area. an easy method is the shaded area is basically a trapezoid with a square removed. find the area of the trapezoid with paralllel sides 6ft and 3ft and height of 10 ft then subtract a square 2 x 2 that will give the shaded area. then subtract that area from the large rectangle
