HELP ASAP!!!! FAN+MEDAL!! I'm in a rush and this is the only thing i need left to finish!!! PLEASE! 1) What evidence is there that the human species has been successful so far? Explain. 2) What environmental pressures in the past do you think were most important in shaping the human species as it exists today? 3) What environmental pressures exist now that you think may be shaping the human species? 4) What environmental pressures do you think may affect humans as Earth becomes more populated with humans in the future? Explain how these pressures may affect human traits.

1.For man species the measure of success is dependent on niche utilization and reproduction. By both of these criteria humans can be considered "successful". Out original niche was as a savanna omnivore in east Africa, now we have spread across the planet living in a wide variety of environments and have been able to drastically increase the range of food sources we use. In an evolutionary context, the only true measure of success is offspring. Humans continue to have a positive population growth, indicating a (currently) successful species. Of course, the latter is a two-edged sword as every species eventually runs up against the carrying capacity of the environment and the population begins to crash once more. Arguments for why we have been successful in an evolutionary context vary, but a several often cited aspects are language, culture, and adaptability. Language allows people to share knowledge and skills with others, to learn skills without having invent them yourself, and to build upon the knowledge others have gathered. Culture serves as a repository of knowledge and provides a context for social organization, knowledge transfer, and group cohesiveness. Adaptability is just that, it allows organisms to change their behavior in response to novel stimulus (eg, new environments).
what about the rest? :)
for number 2 maybe its the Ice age?
It is the Ice age
ok so number 3 is...
for number 3 try this out http://www.chacha.com/question/what-environmental-pressures-exist-now-that-you-think-may-be-shaping-the-human-species
The Ice Age was the greatest Environmental pressure that ever happened and greatly shaped us today
yeah but its the same thing?
The worst, I think, will be expansion of cities, destroying animal habitats, vegetation, even farmland. Food may become scarce, the eco system will be interrupted.
that was 4.
did I get them correct if so medal me
ok i will :) thanks :D
where's the medal?
its a discussion therefore i have to wait at least 2-5 days so my teacher can grade it but i'll give you a medal for trying :D
