OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve the following system of equations: -2x + y = 1 -4x + y = -1 (1 point) (3, 1) (-1, 3) (-1, -3) (1, 3)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

same as before

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Ok so i have this guys.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

I will help him this go around.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

you mean, you'd do it for him?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

as opposed to actually "help" him

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Wrong png.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm this is a repost from http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/552d9a30e4b0b938367f98fe with a minor correction, but the substitution still applies so.... I don't see the quandary

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

is not though he really never ... said what "x" is or "y" is he simply reposted with a correction, not the is not 2x+y is -2x+y same thing though

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

@Jackson2701 is not even trying to solve what i gave him anyways.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

it seems so, yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya'll are confusing me. By the way I'm a girl that's my last name

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Well if you cannot solve that simple part then you need to contact your teacher for help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have a teacher

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Then ask your parents, assuming the only other option is homeschool.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I can solve that simple step you and the other guy was just talking and confusing me. And its an online class

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

FLVS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Then you do have a teacher, because i am in FLVS as well so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Bye.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought you was going to help me

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Sorry all FLVS students have a teacher and i know you have one.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Because there are essays that get graded by your teacher.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I live in TN

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Tennessee?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

You really should not be in FLVS then because in order to finalize a class you have to live in FL.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what i'm in sadly

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

I would suggest looking for a different online course, if you are living with your parents let them know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I take it at my school

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

School suggested it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They wasn't enough kids who made it for us to have a teacher so they told us this was our algebra class

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

That is odd. I would talk to your principal/counselor about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm almost finished with it. But the problem

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like I keep on working it out and it gives me a fraction

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Well you are solving it wrong then.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Try solving that. Here. After that which i just provided you with, you would divide both sides by 2 giving you what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=1

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Correct. Now you need to substitute (1) for x in y = 2x + 1

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

What does that give you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=3

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Correct so what are your answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1,3)

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

If it is in coordinate then yes, but i would have just said y = 3 and x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks so much i'm new to this open study thanks i would give you something but i have no clue how

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Click best response.

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

There you go ^-^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok Thanks for all your help

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Sure thing.
