Which answer corrects the error in capitalization? Oh, grandpa, I wish you were a candidate for mayor of this town. A. Mayor B. Town C. Grandpa D. Candidate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c i think

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Well, you only capitalize aunt, uncle, grandpa, grandma, etc when you have a name after it, like Aunt Mary, Uncle Bob, Grandpa Sal, Grandma Sally, etc

sammixboo (sammixboo):

This one is a confusing one, give me a minute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c is wrong what about a

sammixboo (sammixboo):

I would think so

sammixboo (sammixboo):

I think it's A. I know you don't capitalized grandpa when it's like that, but they might possibly be doing that in this sentence. @EclipsedStar opinion??

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Let me do a little research

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Oh yes, you were right. it's grandpa

sammixboo (sammixboo):

I was thinking it wrong. When used like this, it's OK. But like if it is saying 'I wish MY GRANDPA blah blah blah'

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Then that isn't OK

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

In this sentence, the word "grandpa" is being used in place of a name, therefore it should be capitalized. Sorry for the late reply, I was eating.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

It;s OK. Figured it out xD
