i think it is very effective casue what if we wernt in the UN then we would be screwed because it is a organization that brings nations together rather than tearing them apart

You could argue both ways honestly as an argument against joining, one need only look at the failure that was the League of Nations due to the fact that they possessed no real military might and thus were dependent on every member being in agreeance of what action to take and this is near impossible to do, also their is still a system of hierarchy within these organizations, the most powerful first world nations usually are the leaders that drive decisions such as the united nations defense council. Also with so many nations each has their own agenda and goals for them to achieve which undermines the entire idea of the common good for the world and leaves the UN more often then not in active.
