Dr. Ibanez recorded the amount of snowfall, in centimeters, at 10 different locations during 1 day and then arranged the amounts from smallest to largest. The amounts were 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, and 6 cm. The mean of these measurements is 4 cm. What is the mean absolute deviation? A. 0 cm B. 0.8 cm C. 1 cm D. 2.5 cm
i keep geting 0.02 and 38

ok for the mean, you have to add up all the numbers, then divide by the total number of numbers. the sum of them would equal 40. since theres values given, divide by 10 to get 4. 4 is your mean. to find the deviation, you have to find the difference of each number given and the mean. so for all the 3's, itd be 1. for the 4's, its 0. for the 5's, its 1 and for the 6, its 2. so now, add 1,1,1,1,0,0,0,1,1,and 2 which equals 8. divide that number by 10, which gives you .8. thats your answer!
