EASY QUESTION WILL GIVE MEDAL TO What value of b makes the statement true? 17 = b – (–6.2) A. –23.2 B. –10.8 C. 10.8 D. 23.2

OpenStudy (ashes.boom):

write it as 17 = b + 6.2 -> because a negative times negative is positive. then you basically just want to get b by itself on one side of the equation take the positive 6.2 and subtract it from both sides of the equation 17 = b + 6.2 -6.2 -6.2 17 - 6.2 = b whats 17 - 6.2? --> 10.8 10.8 = b therefore the value of b that makes this equation true is 10.8. Check your work by putting 10.8 in place of b
