OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Can mods update your username

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

No. They cannot update any usernames. @Holly00d1248

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope. There is no way to change usernames.

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Alright thanks

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

You're welcome. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how a mod changes a users name: step1: suspend user account for 45 weeks step2: user makes new account with a new name

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

That process is not very efficient. @amistre64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, it is not.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And considering you got to 69, that will take you a while to reget using a new account.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

^

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its the only way to get past 100 :) if you have 2 accounts at 60, they equal to 120 right?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@amistre64 Nope. That suspend and make new does not work. If you suspended them at all, they can't make a new account until the suspension is over. Suspensions are now temp IP bans for signups of the same duration as the suspension...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

oh thats an improvement.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

wonder how well that works with proxy IPs

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

^ ikr, that means that poor user turing banned for like forever will never ever come back ._.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Not very well... LOL. But it does slow down the abuse.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

makes me think i should rethink my 'symbolic of our displeasure' approach now that it may have some meaning to it.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, well, I still permasuspend the hardcore trolls and porn linkers...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, they dont need to be here to start with i agree

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Well, RIP Long Time Offenders

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I figure that if a hardcore troll is proxy jumping, each perma suspend nocks out one more proxy.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

True, unless they like to travel around and go to each starbucks and mcdonalds near them and create thousands of accounts before breaking the law.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I have made other suggestions for that...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i still like the redirect to the "OS is broken for now" page
