A county has the following rule for voting: "Citizens under the age of 18 are not allowed to vote." Part A: Write an inequality to show the age of citizens who are allowed to vote.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

not allowed to vote.. x < 18......x representing voters that are not allowed to vote

txs! @texaschic101

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

wait....I did that wrong

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you want the ones that are allowed to vote x > 18......x being voters that are allowed to vote

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

so basically you are saying you have to be 18 or greater to be allowed to vote

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Actually it would be \[x \ge 18\] Since those that 18 or older can vote, not just over 18.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

And x represents age, not the voters themselves.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oops...your right 18 or over...got to have the equal sign in there
