OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok well herbie do you have any guesses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Lady.Liv1776 your a rock star at this stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rich and Powerful The Catholic Church became very rich and powerful during the Middle Ages. People gave the church 1/10th of their earnings in tithes. They also paid the church for various sacraments such as baptism, marriage, and communion. People also paid penances to the church. The wealthy often gave the church land. Eventually, the church owned about one third of the land in Western Europe. Because the church was considered independent, they did not have to pay the king any tax for their land. Leaders of the church became rich and powerful. Many nobles became leaders such as abbots or bishops in the church.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if there very wealthy and powerful than they should be able to choose monarchs and they have just about every right to expel whom ever they want from their chrurch

OpenStudy (anonymous):

church*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is D. Although the church held the power to select the monarchy and so on and so forth, it was not the monarchy, and therefore did not have a court.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what i was thinking as well @lady.liv1776

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was thinkin c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So C would also be true because if there extremely powerful and wealthy it wouldn't make sense for them to not own a great deal of land. Especially when they hold marriages baptisms etc..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now that we see that a b and c is true we have d left and that would be the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^-^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright man this was educational

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hope this helped remember if you have anymore questions feel free to ask me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well ladies :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ikr :'D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is wrong don't choose it!
