Check my answer The coordinates of the vertices of figure DEFG are D(8, 4), E(16, 2), F(14, −7), and G(8, −5). Figure DEFG was translated to produce figure DꞌEꞌFꞌGꞌ with vertices Dꞌ(8, −17), E(16, −19), Fꞌ(14, −28), and Gꞌ(8, −26). How many units was figure DEFG translated? __units down i think 7

@GretaKnows please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay since it is moved down there will only be a difference in the y coordiante. so the difference of the y coordiante for each point is the amount it moved down. D = 4--17 E= 2--19 F= -7--28 G= -5--26.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now after looking at that how many units did it move down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry if I am really slow open study is lagging so much for me...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-96?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope two negatives = a positive so the first one is 4+17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4+17=? 2+19=? -7+28=? -5+26=? They all equal the same thing. yep 21 is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 21?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if the difference in all of the points is 21 then how many units was it moved. 21 units down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you :)
