OpenStudy (amorfide):

you have 9 + 3x – 9x + 16 you have numbers, and algebraic terms you want to combine the numbers, and combine the algebraic terms addition and subtraction is commutative so this means 9+3x-9x +16 can be written in any order so you can rewrite it to be 9 +16 +3x - 9x so to combine them you are going to combine the number 9+16 you are going to combine the algebraic terms 3x-9x then you will add your answers together so 9+16=25 3x-9x= -6x 25 + -6x becomes 25 - 6x
