they are not colinear (i.e. one is a multiple of another), When you subtract one from the other, it gives you a point, so they intersect. If it helps, graph them before solving

@P0sitr0n both equations are : y = 2x +7 y = 2x + 4/3 so they have the same slope which implies they are parallel not intersecting :)
