Try to use something relatable to get the reader's attention. However, I would suggest to avoid using a "you" sentence for the beginning.

(Example of what I mean with the "you" sentence:
"You know how they say...")

This is because while you're trying to make the beginning relatable to the reader in order to get their attention, not everyone can relate to what you will exactly be writing. You can't get everyone to relate to the essay, but you can get a lot of people to do so with the right idea and writing tactics.

Make sure that this relatable sentence (or sentences), however, will be able to tie in to the idea of the essay.

As for "what does it mean to learn", I suggest that you think deeply on this. A few suggestions on what you should mull over for this essay could be...
-Education, since it is related to learning
-The importance of education
-How learning can benefit yourself and others
