OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Which of the following will most likely produce sample proportions that are normally distributed? A. Many samples of 19 coin flips B. Many samples of 14 coin flips C. Many samples of 9 coin flips D. Many samples of 34 coin flips Please explain. Thank you!

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

@perl I think the answer would be D. Many samples of 34 coin flips because the sample is greater than or equal to 30.

OpenStudy (ajanijones):

, The number of samples that are at least greater than 25, which is D. By virtue of the central limit theorem (CLT) any distribution becomes approximately normal when number of samples are greater than or equal to 30. In this binomial case, the theorem applies relatively well even with n > 25 so I would go with 34 coin flips.
