I'm not sure how to simplify this -3(b – 7) Can someone help me? I know you have to use the distributive property and multiply -3 by b and 7 right? or by -7? But im not sure how to show that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be (-3 • b) (-3 • 7) ?

iYuko (iyuko):

You first have to distruibute the -3

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

No.. it would not emmart

Okay so then after that would it be -3b + 21?

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

Very good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And that's the answer right? Because since you don't know what b is there's no solving for it. Right? c:!

DivineSolar (divinesolar):

I agree so yes that is the right answer ^-^.
