I think that this mainly depends on which sentence accurately fits the description of the parents in the question. 

Pauvre = poor
Drôle = funny
Snobs = snobs
Séverès = severe (as in harsh or strict)

I do agree with you on that the other choices seem to be rude, but again, if there are any further sentences before or after the question explaining how the parents are, then you'll want to go with which one fits them most accurately. I hope that helps, et bonne chance! (^_^)
