@FEARLESS_JOCEY

rvc (rvc):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think -1^3 and 1^-3

rvc (rvc):

well u r almost correct how can the sign change while writing it in the cube form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um idk im not good at exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh isnt it like this 1/1^3

rvc (rvc):

for example: 5 X 5 X 5 X 5 X 5=(5)^5

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

What is the difference between \[-1^3\] and \[1^{-3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see thats what i dont get @YanaSidlinskiy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think @YanaSidlinskiy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here ill be back

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

The rules are: If you have a negative exponent your outcome is positive. If you have a positive exponent and negative base your outcome is negative. The first expression says the same thing as: (-1)(-1)(-1) = -1

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Makes sense? I really have to go right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay bye and thanks
