\(Never\) ask to become a moderator, it only decreases your chance of becoming one. A moderator is a user on OpenStudy that moderates and keeps the site user-friendly. Moderators abide both the Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions and volunteer their time to ensure the best experience for users that use the site. They can be identified by their purple usernames. Requirements on becoming a moderator on OpenStudy: ~You must be 18+, due to legal issues. ~You have to be, and act mature. ~Be on the site for a fair amount of time. (usually more than 6 months). ~Be an good and active user on the site. ~Having a squeaky clean abuse record. ~Have good rapport with fellow users. ~Having a good sense of justice. ~Be an expert in some field of study. ~Do a great job in the ambassador program. *In the ambassador training period, you'll learn how the rules work on OpenStudy and you'll learn how to make the right decisions.* You have to win the respect of this community through interaction, knowledge and the ability to interact and intervene in an appropriate manner. It is a big part based on participation, courtesy and respect. You have to be willing to make some effort to solve/prevent arguments and problems that arise, and DO NOT ask to become a moderator, as this will only decrease your chances of becoming one. Then, when the admins decide they need more moderators, you might get asked. Best of luck!

You too. :)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

#1, if you are 18 then only you can be considered for moderator. #2, asking for it lowers your chance of becoming one. #3, apply for ambi as the kind of highers your chance, once the time is right. Best of luck.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

^ Copying me with "Best of luck" eh? :P

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Well, then again you didn't cite your sources (Thomaster) =P

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I reworded Thomaster's original if you didn't notice XD
