Take the steps as simple as this : You got the value of y which is 5 then substitute by this value in the original equation which is y = 3x - 4, Then you will get sth like this : 5 = 3x - 4 get the -4 in the right hand side to the left hand one you will get : 9 = 3x simply divide both sides by 3 then you will get : x = 3 So the pair will be (3,5) :D
