Which would a deist believe? A. Surviving a disaster is a sign that God intervened. B. Only the pope can communicate directly with God. C. It is through God that humans have natural rights to life and liberty. D. Prayer to God can lead to recovery from illness.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's A...maybe...

OpenStudy (paki):

"A deist believes that God exists and created the world, but does not interfere with His creation. Deists deny the Trinity, the inspiration of the Bible, the deity of Christ, miracles, and any supernatural act of redemption or salvation."

OpenStudy (paki):

so yeah, will say A @Pocarii

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If Deists believe God doesn't interfere with the world, and don't believe in supernatural salvation then why would surviving a disaster be a sign that God intervened? My best guess is C, as it has the best correlation with Deist belief.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To clarify, I mean that, in Deist believe, if God created the world, then the natural rights that humans are given would be 'through God'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Armistice Well now that I think about it I actually agree it's C. Because from my book it says that Deist thought since God is the creator of the universe he orders the universe and also deist believe that they do not take actively in the workings of the world or in people's affairs. But instead God is the "Divine Watchmaker" of the world who created a mechanism and then left it to run on it's own.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yeah I think you're right it's C. :D thanks

Glad I could help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And thanks @paki for helping

OpenStudy (paki):

my pleasure :)
