CONFUSED!
A cone-shaped tent has a diameter of 12 ft and a height of 6 ft. What is the approximate volume of the tent? Use 3.14 to approximate pi, and express your final answer to the nearest tenth
IS it 226.2 or 266.1?
226.2
are you sure?
yes I'm in 6th grade but I'm a math nerd I'm taking a highschool course
how do we determine the volume?
id suggest we work the process instead of just 'relying' upon someones acceptance or rejection of it
V=πr2h/3
good height is given whats the radius?
the radius is half of the diameter so its 6
then 3.14 * 6^2 * 6/3 36 * 3 is 72 72*3.14 is going to be about 226 so now we have proof that back it up :)
but it says to round to the nearest tenth and I keep getting 226.1 or 226.2
so your 266 was a typo
If your still confused just go here https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1CAACAC_enUS551US551&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=volume%20of%20a%20cone%20calculator&es_th=1
226.08 seems we rnd up
I also suggest making an account on Khan academy there videos and lessons can be very helpful
khans ok i guess ... they never really appealed to me tho.
226.19467439999997
here is a link to videos https://www.khanacademy.org/search?page_search_query=volume%20of%20a%20cone
use 3.14 and 6^2 * 6/3 http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=3.14*6%5E2*6%2F3 follow the instructions that they have given you ....
yes both sites seem very helpful I just feel khan academy is a little more motivational
