Graph the function. xy+4 = 0

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hint: solve for "y", graph that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure how do I put a 0 in for x?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf xy+4=0\implies xy\cancel{+4-4}=0-4\implies \cfrac{\cancel{x} y}{\cancel{x}}=\cfrac{-4}{x}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it would be the same for the y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i mean x

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

it's the same function, yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i can put any number in for x and y then graph it?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap any random "x" and get a "y value" and graph that is a LINEar equation, so to graph a line, you only need two points, thus only two "x" values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh ok i think i have it now

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

k
