I know, but the value for the checkbox (when it is checked) is true. The default value for the textbox is false. Therefore, the textbox returns false, thus telling the system that you have not checked the box. That's probably a really lazy way to do it tho.

I know you changed it to true. The checkbox will return true if it is checked. If the checkbox is not checked, then the textbox will return false (its default value). You changing it to true is irrelevent.
