Can I say this: A = 1/2 * x * y x = 10.4 12 * 6 = 72 y = 72 10.4 * 72 = 748.8 748.8 / 2 = 374.4 A = 374.4 yards^2
@jim_thompson5910 @amistre64
area?
Well, we already were given the apothem to be 10.4 yards. The perimeter is the distance around our hexagon. But since we have the side length, and all the sides of a regular hexagon are the same, we can multiply the side length 12 by the number of sides 6 for the total perimeter. Is that clear?
Have you encountered this formula before? A=\[\frac{ ap }{ 2 }\] Where p is the perimeter and a is the apothem.
Okay soo... A = 1/2 * a * p a = 10.4 12 * 6 = 72 p = 72 10.4 * 72 = 748.8 748.8 / 2 = 374.4 A = 374.4 yards^2
!!! ;)
Its correct?
yep
Good Job.
