Which three-dimensional shapes do not have identical cross sections when cut by planes that are parallel to the base? Select all that apply cone rectangular pyramid cylinder triangular prism

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

what do u think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think maybe just the rectangle?? @sdfgsdfgs

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

pyramid is correct as the cross sections will not be identical. but how about other shapes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

triangular prism too ? because the sphere doesn't really have a base, and the cone has a point at the top so. @sdfgsdfgs

OpenStudy (triciaal):

we are only looking at the cross-section so I think only the rectangular pyramid

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

prism is correct too. for cone, the cross sections are all circle BUT are they same size? remember they must be identical...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it not just the prism and pyramid? there's something else too? @triciaal @sdfgsdfgs
