Plot idea help. I need a topic of what to do in my English class - it says you need to write a mythic story about a hero (I need to make all of this up). Can somebody help me with the topic, please? o:
For starters, myths are generally set back in the past, a very long time ago. Whether your protagonist is a girl or guy is beside the point, but usually the heroes of myths are males. Often they are tasked with what seems to be impossible, but they manage to pull through and defeat the odds with a mixture of strength, luck, and bravery. However, it might make your story more interesting if you gave the protagonist a different set of skills- for instance, not being very strong, but having great cunning and many loyal friends. Additionally, magical creatures often get incorporated into myths. You could incorporate a magical creature that has already been established in different types of works (i.e. a griffin, a firebird, etc.), or you could even make up one of your own. (Note that if you make up a magical creature on your own to provide a description of what it looks like and how it acts around others. You don't want to leave your readers confused and wondering what this creature is.) Sometimes myths also have subplots that help to boost the story along the way. Relationships with others, particularly love interests, is a great subplot to incorporate, especially if said love interest turns out to be important to the main plot. This is all I really have to offer you for now. I hope that helps, and good luck! (^_^)
Heroic stories often include danger/obstacles, romance, symbols, ext. I think it would be cool if you made the hero a women because most hero's are stereotyped as men. You could also make it more modern in which the hero faces obstacles that people face today.
Thank you @Seira-kun and @lipowell :)
