I think it is B because of this article: Early in the 19th century, Manchester became a center of the textile industry. Because of this, the town grew during the 19th century at an impressive rate. By 1850, Manchester was an impressive industrial metropolis churning out textiles for sale and distribution around the expanding British Empire. Today, Manchester is a thriving metropolitan city and is the biggest university city in Europe.
