I got 172.0477400589 which is somewhat close to 172.2 so you are correct

\(\large A_{regular~polygon} = \dfrac{Pa}{2}\) where p = perimeter and a = apothem Here the perimeter is 5 * 10 in. The apothem is x in Jim's figure. Exact answer is 172.155634... in^2, so 172.2 in^2 is a close approximation.
